Having played badminton for more than 20 years, I've always known that I want to become a coach. Changing careers when in my 20's I knew that coaching and inspiring others was what I was good at. I began coaching in 2010, soon landing a full-time role as a badminton coach at Leicester City Council. My remit was to work on the B-Active Women Project to get as many females playing badminton and other sports as possible. The project was a huge success and it has only gone from strength to strength from there.

Even if I am an expert in badminton as a coach, it is my ability to transfer this knowledge to players and individuals that really makes the difference. I am aware of the necessary steps to maximise every player's potential. I am here to listen and work with you whether you're a beginner trying to pick up new skills, a club player hoping to advance, or a county or national player. I am someone who can recognise that each player has unique demands and be aware of those differences in my coaching style.
I also firmly believe that enjoying and having fun with the game is crucial to progress. When we appreciate what we're doing, we learn more quickly and effectively. We become motivated to seek more as a result of that satisfaction. Anyone may play badminton and develop a passion for it. It's the second most played sport worldwide and the most popular racket sport in UK.
Throughout my badminton career, I have translated my passion and drive into success on the court. I now want to put that passion and drive into world-class coaching and give back what I have learnt to others, to keep people playing and more so, increase the total number of people playing badminton locally, in the UK and even Worldwide!
